SHADY is how I'd describe my gut feeling. I'm commenting on the Sales dept, not services. I think people are leaving a lot of services reviews and maybe their services really are good.

Anyhow, I inquired about a 2022 Toyota because I saw on their website it says it's "in stock". I call them up and they said, well, no, the website isn't up to date and they don't actually have any of the models on their site. (NOTE: every other dealership correctly lists what's actually in stock so this was red flag #1).

Then I asked if they charged a "market fee" which some dealers are charging because they can sell for way above MSRP. They REFUSED to answer me directly and kept dodging the question, meanwhile attempting to gather as much info about me as possible. (red flag #2)

Finally, they send me a link to pay them a $500 "deposit" to "hold my spot" for a new car. I asked for a contract showing how I would get the money back if I changed my mind. They have no such contract, so they're asking me to fork over $500 with no documentation of what the money is for and how to get it back. They finally told me it could take a month to get my refund. No way to know if they're lying about that.

A different sales rep would call and email me every day. It was irritating. I don't care if they are the #1 Toyota dealership in New England. I've learned to always trust my instincts whenever something tell me something is not right.

By the way, I'm doing business with a much better dealer. Buying a car is stressful enough, the last thing you want is to be giving money to a dealership that lacks transparency. If it was one salesperson, I might understand, but it was multiple people I interacted with.
