Add ReviewPsychotherapy and counseling are both terms used to describe a person meeting with a therapist to achieve a variety of goals. This process is so vastly different depending on the individual that John prefers to describe the process as working with people to make positive life changes. John's counseling approach is rooted in Client Centered Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, but is tailored to meet each individual's needs. He believes that everyone is different and that counseling needs to take these differences into account. He will work with you in identifying approaches to therapy that are right for you and will best help you to achieve your goals. John believes there is a cycle of thinking, behavior and feeling and that change in any area will allow for change in the others. Counseling can focus on the past, present, and/or future depending on your wants and needs. John does individual therapy for adolescents and adults. He is licensed in Mental Health and Substance Abuse Counseling.
