After failed attempts to get a roof repair scheduled with other contractors I contacted Mike Land based upon a recommendation from a friend. I initially contacted Mike on 11/10/21. He was able to send his repair representative out to my house that afternoon. His representative indicated that the leak was associated with worn roofing roll material in the valleys of my roof where an addition had been done in 2005. He indicated that the repair should involve the removal and replacement of the roll material and the replacement of some adjacent shingles that would need to be pulled up to access the worn material and install the new material. He would also replace some ridge caps that were blown away in Ida.

I contacted Mike Land a week later to see if he had a chance to prepare an estimate. He responded via a text on 11/19/21 that they could seal the valleys and replace the missing roof caps for a price that I felt was extremely reasonable. He stated that he would put it in writing and that they could do the work the following day, Saturday 11/20. I was elated!

Mike also stated in one of his texts that Mike that the receipt and warranty documentation for their services would be provided upon completion of the job.

The workers were scheduled to start at 10:00 AM. They eventually showed up at around 1:00 having been delayed by another job. They began immediately and said they could still finish the job that day. The lead worker showed me three 5 gallon drums of "plastic cement" they bought at Home Depot as well as some webbed tape that they would use for joint reinforcement. In other words, they were not going to remove the old roofing material and replace it as I originally understood they would be doing. I allowed them to proceed as I need the leak repaired and was assured that this was an appropriate repair versus what had been originally explained to me would be done. There were two workers and they completed the job in just over two hours. I paid them the agreed to price even though the scope of the work performed was less than previously explained would be needed. I was not given a receipt nor the warranty documentation as previously promised but told that Mike Land would send it to me. The check was written out to Mike Land.

Since then despite several text message between Mike and myself and assurances/promises from Mike that the receipt and warranty documentation on their services would be provided, I have received nothing. I also asked Mike to provide a pricing breakdown of the labor and materials for the job since the work scope was different from what had been previously discussed with me. I never received that either.

So my first mistake was not getting the quote including the pricing breakdown in writing from Mike before I agreed to the job being performed. I would not normally have done that but based on the positive feedback I received from my friend who referred Mike I decided to trust him at his word. The payback for that trust is:

- No receipt
- No documented warranty of their work, and
- After I did my research on the cost of the materials used (less than $150-$200) and the knowledge of how relatively few hours of work was involved (4-6 hours accounting for both workers) I paid a HEFTY premium for their prompt service.

So, in conclusion, buyer beware. Do not authorize any work from Land to Land Roofers without a complete pricing breakdown and definition of the work to be performed beforehand. And do not trust Mike Land to honor his word once he's received the money from you.

My apologies. I looked for your name and didn't see it in our database. Would you happen to know of the exact date that you called and from what number?

Mike Land was referred to me by my neighbor who was bragging about the service he got from Mike, after the storm. I called him, and he got back to me the same day. I had a leaking roof from the storm and he showed up the very next day and put a tarp on my roof. I was impressed with his professional demeanor and work ethic. I hired Mike for the repair job and it looks great! If you need honest, reliable roof replacement or repairs, give Mike a call. You'll be glad you did.

If you are looking for a fair roofing company with GREAT quality product and team, look no further. Mike and team replaced an entire roof for single story home in Mandeville. He even spotted items the adjuster didn't catch. They were fast, efficient, well priced, and the roof looks amazing! I cannot thank him enough for how easy the whole process was. Would recommend this company to anyone needing a new roof or repair. Look no further..call them now!!
