Western River Expeditions

The 7 day Grand Canyon trip was amazing! Our guides, Wylie, Mark, McKey and Bill were so great. They were so knowledgeable about the river and their cooking skills were on point! The canyon was so beautiful and what a way to see it.Havasu Creek was so incredible. Definitely worth the hike. Book the 7 day because you get more hiking/water falls. A couple of things that I wish I had brought are a camp Yeti type coffee cup. Could have used that for cocktails at night as well as coffee in the am. Another thing, make sure your headlamp has a red light on it. We went the second week in Sept. and did not need a fleece or the water socks. Temps were warm. Went to sleep on top of sleeping bag and crawled in there in the middle of the night some nights, but mostly warm enough to sleep without it. Bring more alcohol than you think. Most peeps ran out. That time of year, beer is not cold( cool, since it is cooled by the river) They had ice every night for our cocktails. One of our favorite trips ever. One of the highlights was being off the grid for a whole week. Definitely get it booked!

I went as a solo on a 5 day Desolation Canyon trip end of June this year. I can't think of anything Western River Expeditions could have done different or better...they nailed it! Everything from the plane ride, all the excellent food, top notch and brand new equipment (rafts, tents, etc) and my guides were the best! So many fun activities, hikes, Petroglyphs, ruins, etc. I had an amazing time!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND

My wife and I did the 3 day rafting trip with 7 other friends and family. Everyone had an amazing time and could not have been happier with the experience on every level. On day one we were picked up at the "host" hotel in Vegas and driven to Boulder City where we boarded a prop plane and were flown over the Hoover Dam to the Bar 10 Ranch. From there we were helicoptered into the Canyon to meet our guides and the rest of the group on the river. Our group of 9 was part of a 28 person, two raft group, guided by Ben, Paco, Hank and Daniel. Over the next 3 days we experienced multiple grade rapids, a hike to a waterfall, jumping from a 35' rock into the Colorado River, camping under the stars and 3 meals each day prepared expertly by our guides. I could go on and on about this trip, but to keep it simple; Western River Expeditions provided an amazing experience from start to finish, provided us with excellent food, expert guides and an adventure of a lifetime! We are definitely considering a longer trip in the future and wouldn't do it with any other company!! In our opinion they are the only company you should consider!!

You couldn't ask for a better Grand Canyon Rafting expedition experience than Western River Expeditions! The white water rafting was amazing on the safest raft (J-rig) that floats this stretch of the river. The Grand Canyon experience will fill your soul with appreciation and fulfillment. The food was gourmet especially for food cooked at the side of a river! The guides were probably one of the best parts of the trip with their white water experience, chef skills, and knowledge of the canyon and geology. The only way to improve on it is to go again!

We had a great time during our week with western river. Our guides, Ben, Paco, Daniel and Hank were all great to be around with and worked extremely hard to make sure our trip was memorable. They cooked us amazing meals daily, and were never slacking on their end. If you’re looking into a trip, western river is the place to go.

What an amazing way to experience the Grand Canyon! I loved every minute of this fantastic, well-organized trip.

I don't give 5-star recommendations often. Western River Expeditions earned it. They are a top-notch organization. Full stop.

The crew was amazing. Not only do they get you down the river safely, but they give you geology lessons, history lessons, cook tremendous meals, and, on occasion, sing for you.

There is so much I could say but I will keep it brief - the trip was absolutely incredible for myself and the group of friends I was with. Mark (trip lead), Stephen, Nick, & Josh were incredibly knowledgable, calculated, and attentive while also creating a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. If I could book another trip 11 years out for when my 1year old turns 12 I would. Thank you to our crew! :)

Guides were the absolute best. Kind, accommodating and knowledgeable about the geology and history of the canyon.
Food was much better than I expected and prepared fresh daily. All equipment was working well and we had absolutely no issues with any of it. From the chairs to the boats, no failures. The helicopter ride into the canyon itself was an unexpected highlight for me. Just an amazing 10 minute ride.
The only reason I have not given 5 stars is the "4 day expedition" we took is really 2 days of expedition. Although the people at the bar 10 ranch were really great ( I had actually been there before on a motorcycle ride from mesquite) I would rather have spent that time on the river in the canyon.
I realize the itinerary is written very clearly and knew what was coming....just enjoyed the canyon time the best and think a "4 day river expedition" should be exactly that.
Do it. You won't regret it.

The best experience money can buy! The guides are amazing and treated us like royalty from their kindness to the amazing food they blew my expectations away! Loved every minute of it and can’t wait to go back. Glamping at its finest while rafting down the Colorado through the Grand Canyon.
